Our Team

Barry is the founding Principal and Director of BWA TierOne Consult. He has over 30 years of international experience, previously holding several board and executive leadership roles in both Tier 1 Contractor organisations and in major contracts advisory consultancies. Barry initially trained as a quantity surveyor focusing on commercial management and project controls for major projects internationally.

Barry’s broad sector experience includes major road, rail, tunnel and bridge engineering projects, major airports, hospitals, power stations, commercial, process plant, energy and resources extraction projects.  He regularly provides specialist and tailored advice on procurement methods, including design and construct, alliance models, PPP and bespoke contract methods.

He has extensive experience in mediation, adjudication, litigation and arbitration proceedings, as well as the formulation and execution of commercial strategies to mitigate, manage, and resolve contractual claims or disputes upon major construction and engineering projects.

Barry launched BWA TierOne with a focus on assembling a team that brings a collaborative approach, diverse skill sets, and extensive experience to an established and loyal client base. He believes in a Client-centred approach, delivering a focused service offering, and in meeting and exceeding Client’s expectations.

Carin is a Senior Contracts Consultant with over 20 years of experience across a diverse range of major projects across Australia. She has worked with several Tier 1 contractors across all sectors including commercial building, infrastructure, structural and civil engineering projects.  In that time, Carin has honed her Commercial and Contracts Management skills over the whole lifecycle of major projects.

She has skill sets in measurement, quantification, cost planning, procurement, scope definition, contract drafting and reviews, cost and revenue forecasting, contracts administration, agreement of variations, both upstream and downstream contracts management, and claims resolution. She is a regularly sought-after specialist commercial resource, who brings her technical knowledge and experience to any stage of a project in the planning and construction delivery process.

Sehan is a Senior Contracts Consultant with 13 years of experience on major projects, both in Australia and overseas. He has undertaken numerous assignments for Tier 1 contractors, including John Holland Group, Lendlease, Downer/DTI, and CPB, in both the major commercial building and civil engineering infrastructure sectors. He has extensive experience in procurement and contract management across various methods, including PPP, design and construct, construct only, and lump sum contracts.

Sehan is skilled in all project stages—feasibility, cost planning, tendering, contract negotiation, administration, and final account resolution—as well as managing claims and providing support for dispute resolution processes in various forums, such as adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.

He is engaged by Western Sydney University to design and develop the core module “Construction and Claims” for the Master of Construction Law program and to deliver topics on quantum. Additionally, he serves as a member of the external advisory committee for the Master of Construction Law program.

Sehan is hands-on and leads by example for the other staff on his team. He is a sought-after specialist commercial resource who brings his technical knowledge and experience to his clients. His academic and professional qualifications in quantity surveying, combined with secondary legal qualifications and extensive international experience, enable him to support his clients at any stage of a project in the planning and construction delivery process.

Alana is our Marketing Coordinator at BWA TierOne Consult. She plays a pivotal role in executing our marketing strategies. Alana manages and coordinates our brand awareness, and all public relations such as social media posts, website platforms and events management. Alana conducts market and project research and promotes collaboration between our teams to ensure our Client’s objectives are met. She is a well organised and a highly skilled professional.

Intani is our Finance Manager at BWA TierOne Consult. She manages all our financial operations including budgeting, cash flow management, and provides strategic insights. Intani possesses a deep understanding of financial analysis, risk management, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Intani has strong leadership and communication skills and is a valuable member of our team.
